So many people ask me, why my beauty diet is not showing any results? Well, the answer is, you are probably doing something wrong. In this article we will discuss some of the activities that you should stop immediately as they can potentially hamper any benefits gained from your beauty diet.

  • Stop drinking alcohol:
Over the years, alcohol consumption is surely going to ruin your good looks. Alcohol has many negative effects on an individual’s health. It must be noted that alcohol consumption leads to dehydration. This dehydration will make your face look puffy and bloated. Such a puffy and bloated face will make you look older than your real age. Another adverse effect of alcohol is that it slows down your metabolism. You must have heard that in order to lose fat, one must keep a high metabolic rate. Well, a slow metabolic rate is just going to do reverse of that. It will help you in gaining extra pounds. It’s only a matter of time before alcohol consumption gets you a bloated, dry and double chinned face. Drinking too much alcohol also leads to face flushing, literally flushing all your efforts of maintain your beauty diet.

People who are regular smokers are at higher risk of developing fine wrinkles on their face. These wrinkles will make you look more aged. Regular smoking is also associated with darkening of the lips. You must have noticed that smokers have dark lips. Bloating, wrinkles, darkened lips are just a few of the many side effects of smoking. Smoking has also been associated with inhibition of cell regeneration. Cellular regeneration is extremely important for a young and glowing skin. Studies have shown that smoking has a very detrimental effect on metabolism, as mentioned earlier, a high metabolic rate will help you stay young but smoking is definitely going to slow it down. There are other negative health effects too. It has been clinically proven that smoking can lead to permanent mutation of DNA; if this happens to you then it means that you will not be able to pass on your good genes to your future generations. So from a beauty point of view, smoking not only harms your own good looks and spoils your beauty diet but it will also be degrading to your future generations.
  • Avoid too much makeup:
Make up products are amongst the top enemies of your natural beauty. Even though applying makeup will enhance your beauty for the time being, it will prove to be degrading in the long term. Many make up products contain harmful chemicals that can potentially damage your skin. A recent survey has confirmed that make up products such as lipstick contain high levels of heavy metals, particularly Lead. The level of lead found in these lipsticks was higher than the level allowed by FDA in food products. Regular use of cosmetics can also clog your skin pores; such clogged pores will result in acne, allergies and skin problems. Ask yourself, how any beauty diet can make you beautiful when you are smearing your face with harmful chemicals.
